Why are furries so insistent on being all over the media in fursuits?
Theyre in a special called "taboo" and now people believe 85% of furries think theyre part animal to a degree

This fandom makes me facepalm to epic degrees

I think it's funny that they tend to pick the worst types of furries to interview in these things lol.

they might as well just pick the overweight scat cub lovers who wear panda ear hats, and always have a fox plushie in one hand.... would save a lot of time for the media Not a single fuck wa

well I never thought of fursuits as a bad thing as long as the mindset is simply for fun, rather than "I BELIEVE I'M AN ACTUAL FOX"

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOwhatever

I dont have problems with people who think like that, but the massive generalization that almost ever furry is the same as them is just annoying

nobody in the fandom draws or writes or just observes what artists do while living an otherwise normal life
just making fursuits and wearing them
you gotta understand, the average TV viewer's brain couldn't process even the artist/writer/observer dichotomy
they were pushing the envelope here just by showing the fursuiters and leaving it up to the viewer to fill in the blanks as to where the costumes come from
since the fuck when was National Geographic a reality show?

Where did the 85% number come from? Also there are a lot more therians in the fandom than you might think, it's just that there's even more ignorance about what therianthropy is than furry so a lot of people with therianthropic feelings don't identify using the term. Plus there's the even deeper stigma attached, and other social drama.

I think it would fit into the "shows about grown men doing stupid things" category. Also, occasionally "shows about dinosaurs."

It doesn't help that therians are, by far, the group with the worse socials skills and deeper mental issues - including an extreme paranoia towards anyone penetrating their lil' fringe of the internet. At this point, I'd rather people think therians are just furries with a bit of a mystic bent than see what therians really are. As for the actual number, probably just the way they twist some survey asking if people feel a deep connection to their characters.

No, but they think most viewers are basically 8 year old boys. And then fewer people watch, so they lower the bar more, and whittle it down 'til it may as well be true once they only people left watching are people who wanted the logical end television was headed in all along. More prophetic words were never spoken than the day the term "idiot box" was coined.

If by "8-year-old boys," you mean, "typical American males age 13-30," then yes, aren't you a smart one?

If you literally meant 8-year-old boys... well you were close enough. We enjoyed having you on the show, your consolation prize is a trip to Tahiti, join us next week when our show is canceled and replaced with a show where demolition experts shove fireworks up the rectums of various wild animals.

Spoiler:

Well at least the science channel has some legitimate science- mmmmm, quantum mechanics

The day Morgan Freeman narrates a tractor demolition derby is the day there is no hope left for humanity inglip
(actually that would be pretty awesome on second thought)

I'll never forgive Discovery for their "Ancient Astronauts" "documentary" (actually, isn't that where the "Aliens!" meme guy is from?) even though I was high off my tits when I saw it and was convinced it was made just for me by the aliens who were sending this to me to communicate what I already knew, that I'm the only human on the planet who isn't a fucking moron

I except better from National Geographic.
Their entire thing was always showing animals fucking and primitive savages people and pointing out the similarities between the two, while contrasting the differences between us and them.
Their entire purpose is to reinforce my sense of righteous entitlement as a white man,
and maybe develop a fetish for animals fucking and pancake tits.
there's none of that here.
