Possible Neighborhood Enemies Empty
PostSubject: Possible Neighborhood Enemies   Possible Neighborhood Enemies Icon_minitimeWed Oct 10, 2012 4:31 am

Where I live, not many people walk their dogs or take them to dog parks; these dogs end up being quite anti-social, especially when I'm walking my own dog. All it takes to set them off is to walk on the sidewalk. Two dogs in particular, a couple of pitbulls owned by the same person, will go berserk and try to bite anything that passes by. My brother is walking Frankie today, and those pitbulls start in with the usual. The following happened he told me, moments later the owner comes out and says, "You need to not walk your dog here, it really upsets my dogs, and my neighbors are complaining about it." My brother responds, "I'm pretty sure the sidewalk is public property and I can walk my dog here if I want." She responds to this with, "Watch your mouth!" At this point my brother just is, whatever, and walks off. While my brother didn't have to be as confrontational, but not even a, "please, can you walk your dog somewhere else" just "you need to walk your dog somewhere else." My dog hasn't barked back even. All that being said, people mistake me for my brother all the time, which is most unfortunate in this case. I hope I don't cross paths with someone who's pissed off at someone that looks like me. Because what am I going to say, "that was my evil twin"?

Actually, Wheej, I think he did the right thing. Well, prehaps a bit more tactful but then again, this lady was trying to buffalo him. Sometimes you have to stand your ground esp. when someone has a ridiculously selfish point of view.

I mean, my dogs bark at cars if I leave the windows open. I don't go outside and bitch at people to not drive on the road opposite my home. Some people think only of themselves. Rolling Eyes

And you're a twin? Small world XD

I do agree with my brother and support him sticking up for us; I'm just concerned we made an enemy. He and I aren't twins, 13 months apart actually, a just look really similar.
