Sooooo watched those Crystal Pony episodes.
I don't think I've hated an episode more in my life. (Except for that Batman TAS inspired one but I avoid that one for my own reasons)
The songs were shit, the timing was shit, the crystal ponies...were shit. Where has the heart gone?
Atleast King Sombra was a BAMF. He shoulda got more lines...

It might have left with Lauren Faust.
Then again, I thought the episode was fine. It didn't feel to me like an episode that was supposed to wow us on its own, it felt like the setup for the rest of the season— something to introduce us to new plot-points that are going to be important for the rest of the episodes.

Yes, this "Twilight becomes an Alicorn" thing no?
Well, now that I think about it...things do need to change sometimes to stay alive. Prehaps this could be cool although, I fear the series is getting too focused on Twilight and not enough the girls on a whole. The 2nd season's ending was more an ode to Twilight's gut always being right and now...
"I hope I get to pass that test, Spike..." "I hope you pass that test, Twilight!" "You will pass this test my student..." "Can I ever pass this test, I wonder?"
Twilight, Twilight, Twilight!!!

Twilight, Twilight, Twilight!!!
I think I know why there's so much focus on Twilight.
In the first season, most episodes centered around Twilight.
In the second season, they gave everyone their own episodes to flesh out the other characters more, but the main story arc points centered around Twilight.
The third season is only going to be half as long as either of the other two, and there seems to be a complex season-spanning story arc about to go down. Since it's the main story arc, it must focus on Twilight, and the other fifty percent of the episodes that would otherwise go to everyone else simply don't exist.

I don't know how to feel about this one. O-o Well, its worth a shot I suppose but why shorten the season? That's less advertisement time I'd think.

Nobody except the Hasbro execs knows for sure. For a long time we've thought it had to do with syndication; Having 65 episodes is good for scheduling, allowing them to air a certain number of episodes a week without having to repeat too often, and that makes it easy to sell your show to other networks.
Lately, though, there have been rumors going around that it was done in order to draw out the series intentionally so they can squeeze more money out of it over a longer period without having to pay the writers, animators, and voice actors as much money.
That said, there is a positive, in that the writers will not be under as much pressure, so they can pace themselves and not use up every single possible episode in three years leaving us disappointed without any show at all.

I don't get it, it doesn't even look like a vagina. How the fuck do they fap to this?
Hell if I know, I'm not even sure how most clop artists draw vaginas, but that's as close as I can get it without straying too far from the show's art style.
Let's ask Greg (The Fox).
