how does one keep up with this stuff

Uncharted 3: $60

Batman Arkham City: $60

Skyrim: $60

saints row 3: $60

buying a 3DS so I can play a bunch of games in 3D: $160

buying a bunch of 3DS games: $100

buying a wii so I can play skyword sword: $130

buying skyword sword: $50

...it's getting really hard to be a gamer when you can't even afford one of those things, but trying to keep up with video games in general becomes like, $700 a year out of your pocket. :U

how do you deal with this? do you torrent games? or wait for games to go on sale? I personally wait for the holidays, where steam has decent games on sale for like, $10.

This is why I'm glad to be at the age where games are just secondary entertainment in my daily life.

Like one or two games per year and I'm set.

I mostly stick to F2P and Open Source... Other than that, yo ho ho...

And the fact that consoles are pretty much just profit farms is reason enough for me to not buy them.

buying a ps3 has basically been a game of buyer's remorse ever since
obviously, that means i've hated myself for several years now but
in my defense, i really fucking wanted it, and worked my ass off
in a shitty job. i rationalized my stupidity at the time by being that.

every time i go over to my friend's house and he has the latest game
and by the way, he has a 3box and a ps60 (why in the fuck?!)
we smoke like 3 grams between the two of us. i have only one word for that
"cloake.... ACTIVATED"

video games are where peter griffin jerks off in your face while giggling
that stupid giggle he always does, you know the one i'm talking about
but then rips a few pages out of orwell or neitchzi's collective works
and wipes his dick off. then your face. then says "that was worth 60 bucks"

and you say that was worth 60 bucks
that was worth 400 bucks, but with almost no tax
it was Alberta :-|

Basically what I'm saying is games feel increasingly cynical towards me, the player. I don't think it's just my own cynicism, or even the weed for that matter. Because I feel pretty much the same thing when I'm sober, but the graphics don't look as trippy and I'm not reading some profound message into it.

I think most markets are fairly cynical... Judging by the fact that businesses where you pay money to help others, or trust someone to make good on their word— Well it's not that they don't exist, it's just that they don't form multi-national conglomerates with partial ownership of the government.

I only buy games I really want, then play the fuck outta them, like litterally I will play the game until it will no longer function properly. Thats why I love Fallout New Vegas, Im able to go on so many different scenarios with that, right now I have a character who is an NCR trooper, and I only do things for the NCR using basic NCR equipment, no more, no less.

I only play Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros... and I borrowed MK from my sister. XD I do kinda want to get Donkey Kong for the Wii, but I could just play my roommates cartridge.
