Speaking of Castlevania, I'm playing Lords of Shadow right now, a little more than half way through the game. I don't think it's great as a Castlevania game even though I think it more or less does right by the series. What does sound like it will be a kick ass Castlevania game will be the one they're gonna have for 3DS that's essentially Lords of Shadow as 2.5D action-adventure/platformer featuring other characters like Trevor Belmont and Alucard. Because tpbh, the only thing that feels wrong with this game is that finally, they have this massive, amazingly detailed and atmospheric world to do Castlevania justice in 3D.... and then make a fucking God of War clone out of it.

Oh geez. The first MMO I ever played, Trickster, is being put to rest this month. Kinda sad. Been raging at that game for years, but I loved it.
Deep stat building, an extreme amount of items, cute and unique style for anime, massive 400 level cap, and awesome events...sexy cat girls.

That's sad to see it go. Been playing since the 8th grade. First PC game...

I think that it was easier then Portrait of Ruin. The later bosses in that game were insane at times, but I like that the games have difficulty. Most games don't anymore.

I wasn't complaining. The only boss that I think was absolutely stupid was Eligor. Have you beaten the training hall and that cave yet? Diabolical.

Yeah I completed all of the DS games as close to 100% as I could.

Yeah, it could be a nice action flick.... and that's the problem. That's what they'd make. They'd make Underworld where they could make Bram Stoker's Dracula/Nosferatu. And I say this as someone who actually likes shit like Underworld. But where that was a movie that felt like a video game, Castlevania games have always felt like movies just for being so big, epic, atmospheric, and convincing you the battle isn't even between your character and the monsters as much as good and evil itself. I don't think there's even really been a movie that made me feel the way Castlevania does, so I'd want Castlevania to be that movie, and of course the studios would just want to cash in on some fanservice and probably even have Simon, Trevor, Alucard, Gabriel or whoever (or all of them) looking like the cast of some fucking reality show making retarded wisecracks about "fighting vampires really bites, man!"

Remember how the very first Castlevania's boxart was clearly inspired by Conan The Barbarian? Because that's basically what Simon Belmont was originally supposed to be... Except he sets out to put an end to Dracula's reign of terror over Europe. You know, I always wondered why that was? Two medieval, almost ancient worlds colliding, but really fighting over land as much as "good and evil".

Underworld sorta made a nod to being that kind of story, but it wasn't. I don't see how Castlevania as a movie could do the games justice without blowing the lid off of the expectations of anyone watching it the way the games have at their best for anyone who played them. So it'd have to almost not even be a Castlevania movie. And I'm as convinced as I am of that because Lords of Shadow is only barely a Castlevania game yet it manages to feel "right" at least when it comes to the presentation, the story, just the whole vibe the game's world gives off.

I just don't see it happening because there's so much source material to draw from that it'd be impossible to please even some fans, and that's the only reason these things get made.
