| Nice. I'm debating between getting a Mosin Nagant from J&G sales for ~$100, or saving up for a Remington 700. I hear the Nagant doesn't actually shoot worth anything. That's way down the road though. The first gun I'm getting is going to be a Makarov. Although this, despite being utterly terrible and costing the same price as 150 rounds of ammo for it, still intrigues me due to its price point and kitsch value. | |

| The 91/30 is a great gun, a few users here own that rifle. Only problem I've had with it was one of the rings securing the stock slides forward, and I need to get it tightened. Its accurate, and for the price, its easy to have some extra spending money to add some upgrades. Only thing different about it compared to other guns is that you have to be a little rough with it, and slap the bolt around. | |

If you're gonna pay $100 for a Mosin Nagant you're getting ripped off. If you go to a gun show people have dozens of em that you can get for $60 or $70.

| $100 is for a model that's been hand selected for bore. | |

I own a mosin nagant myself, though it's at a gunsmith atm to get the barrel bored. I love shooting mine, it's the greatest thing you can buy with $100. The gun's loud, powerful and accurate if you know how to sight it, you will really feel the recoil on it so it will take some getting used to. The fresh smell of hot, moist cosmoline you get from the gun as the barrel heats up from firing is absolutely arousing. My only problem with my mosin nagant is that the bolt was jamming real bad, like much much worse than it usually would, that's why it's at a gun smith right now lol. The accuracy on mine is okay. I'm not entirely sure how to sight it but I usually end up hitting the general area of the target, good enough I suppose :p But if you're going to buy one make sure to completely disassemble the gun (It's easy as shit disassembling it, thing's basically held together with two bolts) and clean out the gun using hot water and degreaser, those things come in basically bathed in cosmoline. .

| Bathed in cosmoline is an understatement on those rifles. Most Mosin/Nagants have probably been sitting in the stuff since the sixties up until maybe the 1990s. I can't wait til March though, since both my parents hate weapons of any kind and wont help me get one, im buying a Karabiner 98k for about $250-$300 and a Walther PPK for myself. | |

| The advantage that the Mosin-Nagant has is that they still manufacture the 7.62x54R...
Other than that, I also own a Steyr M1895 that I bought from a gunshow for about $70... I'd say the 8x56mmR rounds are more expensive than the rifle... I bought a box of about 20 rounds for $30 through a local gun shop, and just handload them...
My friend has to do that with his .303, as well.

I thought we couldn't have a dicks thread like the ass thread? I've abstained from the ass thread because the thought of 40-year-old ass even makes me cringe. *stream-of-consciousness theater* Ass thread? Is that like when the dog eats some yarn and it hangs out of his ass for a day until he shits the whole thing out?
