Doom metal is a type of music typically played with very downtuned instruments, slower tempos and a fuzzier, heavier sound than most types of metal. Pioneered by Black Sabbath, the lyrics are often well, gloomy (if you can't tell by the name of the genre).
Drone metal, drone doom, power ambient (who the fuck calls it that?), or whatever you want to call it is doom metal taken to the extreme. The notes are far more dragged out and suspended and sound very oppressive. Check out Sunn O))).
Stoner rock combines elements of doom metal, psychedelic rock, blues, and acid rock. It usually has a slow tempo, but you can still groove to it, especially if you're high (hence the name).

Bought Akuma No Uta by Boris today, and it's such a psychadelic, doom, stoner blow-out. It's a very schizophrenic album; the introduction is a nine minute drone track, and then it kicks in to two songs of pure rocking out. That's pure Boris. I'd recommend this album to anyone remotely interested in music, not just stoner/sludge/doom. It's so interesting and heavy that everyone should check it out.
