I dunno how I feel about this as far as the actual art goes. I'm trying to find another artist who will use sort of the same idea, maybe put their own spin on it 'cause I really want something for my dog.

To tell the truth, I don't know if I really believe in a Heaven, either. But that and "Old Dog Blue" are the ony songs going through my head...

Zomg. I'm red right now, I swear!! This was something to get me into the groove for something as wonderful as a memorial piece and I hope to do it justice. If I only wish I had coloring skills but this really has become a project that has sparked my senses again.

This is wierd, but I found myself making the expression in the warmup to get into the character. ^^;;

Lol I do that too sometimes. I'll draw someone's character angry or snarling and I'll find myself glaring at it with my lips curled over my teeth. Really awkward in public lol.

Well, there's nothing wrong with saving multiple versions of drawings, just in case you head in a wrong direction and want to turn back.

When I draw, it's not at all uncommon for me to end up with at least 4 incremental versions saved to my hard disk.

that's not what I mean. I hate it. there's no possible way I can draw a proportional arm at this point. I've gone beyond my ability by making the mistake of drawing a new pose.

If I had a dime for every time I redrew a body part because it didn't match the rest of the drawing, I'd have $8,934,214.70

But I've found that if you really keep at it, eventually, you can make something great. Even if you have to redraw the same damn limb 8000 times.

That's why I prefer digital medium to paper, paper isn't durable enough for all my erasing.

I just want to get to the coloring.

Redrawing is what you're supposed to do. What I do is get a sharpie and practice gesture drawing whatever in smaller thumbnails. When I fuck up, I start somewhere else. I use a sharpie so that I CAN'T erase. This is faster than erasing in terms of learning what you're doing wrong.
