The History of GTWF

Okay, this started from a discussion me and Tank had
he was genuinely curious about the history of this forum
I told him it was at least the third incarnation
That's true, right? I distinctly remember the previous one
but I'm pretty sure there was yet another one before that
but how far does this thing go back?
only Riv probably knows for certain
this is in forum games because fuck you, that's why
but on some real shit, I wanna have fun with this
come up with the most ridiculous tall tales of GTWF lore
like the time Foxy Boy posted that thread about me
it was called Wuffles, You Could Have It So Much Better
it inspired me to turn my life around, find Jesus
the resulting eponymous Christian Rap single was a novelty smash
the resulting album cobbled together from past underground material...
yeah, but 1994 I was sporting dreadlocks and became stoner/grunge
as you can see, I never looked back

I started out on FAF in 2009. I met people, it was fun, if not annoying at times.
We had the Moods thread, which was essentially the GTWT before it existed. That got closed down.
After that, the GTWT was eventually born.
After it got shut down the first time, Riv made the first iteration of GTWF.
I left FAF and went to GTWF, which I never left, though I have a reputation of being a shithead.

There has been a total of two separate GTWF forums.

I don't know how many GTWT's there were on FAF.

The original had shitty servers, it went down and up a lot. One day it just went down and never went back up, so we came to this one.

There was a General Time Wasting Thread in FAF a couple years ago. This one wasn't full of asspats and dicklickery and was actually the coolest place on FAF. There was a very popular Skype group that spawned from it and lasted about a year before it dissolved into drama as all Skype groups do. Then, mods shut the GTWT down because they "couldn't keep up with moderating it".

So, Riv founded the GTWF, which ruled pretty hard back in its day. Then Forumer did an "oops lol" and it was lost in the internets furever. Then came this forum! It was pretty much like the old one at first, with a lot less activity, Foxy_Boy throwing the occasional shitfit. Then I hear they brought the GTWT back on FAF, but I didn't care because FAF sucks balls.

Inevitably, the thread got shut down a second time, history repeated itself, and the second wave of GTWFers were shepherded here.

The old forum was nice, and Forumotion is a very subpar forum making website

But Forumer was a piece of shit that refused to give our forum back so this one is the best as far as Im concerned Not a single fuck wa

As far as history goes, the original GTWT was where I met most of you assbutts
