Saying you don't understand why people like it is a confession. Saying something else is better is stating an opinion as a fact.

well like, I think TMNT2K12 series is pretty fucking awesome, but there's better out there.

although it took becoming a fan of TMNT, to sort of understand the appeal others might have of MLP. I don't think any fandom will ever match the level of bronies though.

If you meant it as an opinion, this is more of a grammar issue than anything else, as it was not phrased as an opinion.

The sentence, "I think there are better shows," is formatted as an opinion.

"There are better shows" is formatted as a fact.

That's fifth grade English.

By stating an opinion as a fact, you are indirectly saying that all people who hold a differing opinion are wrong. That's rude.

to be fair, pokemon has had its fandom since 1996. this fandom was created like what, 3-4 years ago? and by that, I mean the brony fandom, not the original my little pony fandom, which let's face it, most people pretend my little pony didn't exist until 2010.

so pokemon has had 14 more years to conceive the amount of porn it has now.

edit: I notice the pokemon tag has 352 pages on e621, and the my little pony tag has 586 pages. I wouldn't trust e621 as a poll though.

The data I am using were pulled from Rule34.net by a guy named BronyStories.

To corroborate your point, the current rate of production is 1.8 pony images for every 1 pokémon image. However, in order to overtake Pokémon, clop artists would have to maintain that production rate for the next four years. I highly doubt the series will last that long, and new characters and plot elements drive porn production, so I don't think that will ever happen. The brighter-burning flame won't last quite as long...

I confess that, despite playing a lot of pokémon, I have never tried to catch 'em all. I only caught the ones I wanted.

The Pokemon fandom is like...going strong until the end of time since they just keep firing out new games and releasing new Pokemon almost annually.

MLP might have a big fanbase, but its nothing compared to Pokemon.

I confess that I'm probably going to be one of those people who drags along in the pony fandom for years and years after it's dead, until eventually the community is so small that my leaving will completely devastate the one other brony still in the fandom.

if the success is any indication, they're probably going to canonize the show into another series 5-10 years after it ends.

or they'll do what arrested development did, and cancel it for 7 years, then bring it back, with another season, and a movie

all I know is, I'm 98% certain the show won't COMPLETELY die.

No other show in history has done what MLP has does---and MLP is nothing more than a simple children's cartoon depicting bland, anthropomorphized ponies displaying positive morals and behaviors that the average schmuck knows about (if they were raised 'right'). There are dozens (if not hundreds) of children's shows that convey the same message, have the same flat-as-shit characters prancing around on a TV screen for 30 minutes and have obnoxious songs playing during that time as well.

The only reason everyone is interested in MLP is because their friends are interested in it. Humans naturally have an innate longing to belong to a specific group. Since the MLP fandom is so stupidly huge and presents itself aggressively across the internet, why not sign the fuck up and become one with the herd?

If anything, the entire fandom is filled with mindless sheep, not bronies.

It'll be awful. Even after all this time, Hasbro hasn't shown us that they see the show as anything other than a glorified commercial. The writers and the studio go the extra mile to make a good program, but I'm sure Hasbro will be able to find cheaper and better-behaved talent.
