Yeah, stuck me in an escort mission with no escape, and it keeps spawning my escort in the middle of a horde so he dies within 10 seconds, making me fail and have to start over. It also randomly made my two best weapons fall THROUGH the ground and autosaved over that. AAAAAND autosaved AGAIN so I have little to no HP.

I haven't played dead island in a while, but doesn't it have the option for multiple save slots?

I ALWAYS take advantage of that. I save over at LEAST two slots, so that if I'm fucked on one slot, I have the other to fall back on.

What it needs is a goddamn better save system.

That's a glitch(s) you'd think the developers would have ironed out when they were making the game.

I was going to ask why you didn't turn off the autosave feature, but then I realized that:

1) You're probably like me and forget to save often without an autosave playing baby sitter lol.

2) You probably didn't see this coming.

3) You didn't give a shit either way.

We'll go with 2.

The last game where a saved game fucked up on me was TES: Morrowind, but that was my fault because I turned the xbox off when it was still saving my character.

Can't you restart from an earlier point or something. There has to be a way.

You can't turn off the autosave. It's literally the game's ONLY method of saving.

And no, you can't go back. It continually autosaves over everything.

Actually, I agree. That save system is terrible. Last time I had a cool weapon I was like "Great. Now I gotta run around like an asshole until the game decides to save before I can shut down the console."

I THINK it does save when you fast-travel, though.
