No. I say these among my friends because they know I'm no racist/homophobe/mentally challenged hater. She's wigging out because my friend said something is gay in this Skype chat. I just left because she won't calm down.

It's not exactly appropriate to use in public with people you don't know (which is why I said "but my friends know me") for obvious reasons, but when you KNOW someone is not against a group, what's the issue?

I've noticed that over time people stop caring for each word that "changes". Like in a few years Autistic will mean the same as "gay" and not many will care.

I think people who get mad at ones they know aren't trying to deface a group and all caps raging are butthurt.

but you know as well as I do, when you get comfortable using these words around your friends, you start slipping them into public use, and offending people who really take it to heart. people have different views on these words, and can get real salty if theyre used improperly.

BUt in this case, I wasn't the one who said it and even if I was, she's known all of us since middle school. Lately though, she's been getting upset over things she used to not give a second thought about. You should have seen her flip out when some girl in Walking Dead got her shirt ripped off or something. She cursed the show and called it misogyny. I don't know what's wrong with her. I don't like having to censor myself around people who know me and my friends. Now I have to...or I could drop her if this gets worse.
