| Just like old times.
Why do all professors schedule tests at the exact same time? It's like they all get together in the league of evil teachers and decide the bast ways to ruin our lives. I spent two weeks with hardly anything to do, and now I'm buried...

I've always chalked it up to western culture's twisted ideals of "meritocracy" because only the best of the best deserve a good job/life and only the best of the best can juggle studying for that many tests possibly while holding down one or more jobs and a familyit's just common sense, right?

| I've realized the more I talk to people, the less they talk to me.
all my friendships start out strong, and then by the end of the year, I'm lucky if I can get them to say hi to me.
the longer I talk to people, the closer I feel to them, while at the same time, they want less and less to do with me. lol not a good combination

It's hard to find somebody who reciprocates. Everybody pays attention to me when I'm indifferent towards them, but whenever I start to actively engage them, they hardly make eye contact... It's weird how most people are these days.

I start to show even the SLIGHTEST bit of closeness towards a person, and they back off, like I might as well not even exist anymore. I try ignoring them (classic human psychology) but that doesn't do shit. I think that only works with chicks.

You lesbians put way too much thought into the ice breaking process. You say hi, ask what's up, maybe a few other things that are simple and straightforward. Even if the conversation doesn't last long, it's enough to soften the barrier and make future conversation more simple. It's a process that has to start out slow and simple.

| my whole life, I've always settled around people who have absolutely NOTHING in common with me. even the most average person usually has one or two things in common with other people, but hardly me. I like being around people unlike me, but... I wouldn't mind if just once, I got to know someone who has the same values as me. the same interests. I'm kind of tired of sneaking around, knowing that if I brought up something like vegetarianism, it would piss people off. (refer to: the many PM's I get about people being butthurt that I brought it up in a forum, etc. spamming me with pictures of dead animals) | |

Those people are stupid. I mean, as long as you weren't being butthurt about people liking to eat meat, then they have no excuse. I don't care what someone wants to eat, as long as they don't shove their choices in my face and then shame me and/or try to get me to change to their choice.

I don't care what someone wants to eat, as long as they don't shove their choices in my face and then shame me and/or try to get me to change to their choice. that's the point I try to make with people. I don't CARE if you eat meat. the problem is that people assume BECAUSE I'm vegetarian, I'll automatically see myself as a better individual than them. no matter how I say it, people get pissed off. so I just end up hiding it. this coming thanksgiving, I'm going to have to think of an excuse as to why I'm not eating turkey. last time I told someone in my family I was vegetarian, she laughed, and then said I'll get over it soon. that I'm just being a typical emo teenager. I've been a vegetarian for almost 5 years. I don't think that counts as a phase that's not even my problem though... I just don't feel close to anyone. or rather, I don't think anyone feels close to me. and I have an idea as to why. why bother hanging out with someone who doesn't do any of the things you do?

"I don't like turkey." XD I had to try to avoid the turkey any time my mother cooked it. She always overcooks poultry and it makes it sooooooo dry it is gross and you need a ton of gravy (which I don't usually like) to make it edible. I don't know why she has such trouble. I am ace at cooking poultry. XD
