You know the whole reason circumcision is common outside of Judaism is because the Catholic Church thought it would keep boys from masturbating

Personally I think mutilating a child's body without their consent is awful. And it's not like babies don't feel pain, it's incredibly painful, they just don't remember it later so no one really cares. They don't even use local anesthetic. How can they justify that? I've heard in detail about the actual process in a documentary, it was very disturbing.

On the other hand I keep hearing that being circumcised drastically reduces the chances of catching AIDS but I wonder if that is really true.

circumcision is one of those things that prove how inherently irrational and cultish humans are, continuing to do it centuries after its original, practical reasons are nullified "just because" or "because if I had to go through it, I'll be damned if my kid gets off the hook, fuck modern hygiene!".

Im not sure what I just ate, but I think I figured out what blue tastes like. Its that calm taste that doesn't get you a bit teary like Coca-Cola with its carbonation, but kind of like a heavily flavored water. There was also an underlying electric taste to it, not sour, but with a slight shock to it, kinda like a jump in the flavor. I wonder what red, or green tastes like.

Kim Petras had bottom surgery at 16. The reason being, she started hormones at 12. The rationale for starting hormones at 12 precisely being to avoid things like voice change and other irreversible changes that will basically ruin your life. 4 years is a pretty damn long wait for something you know you need for all 4 of them. The standard requirement is 2 years of hormones, unless you're underage. I don't see why it shouldn't be 2 years from the start of hormones regardless of starting age. The professional consensus (by four separate therapists) was that Petras would have went insane if she'd had to wait any longer, which is the only reason the exception was granted.

I'm just kind of tired of this "think of the children" soundbite bullshit. It's something that gets repeated because people have heard it elsewhere and it has the ring of truth to it, but that nobody actually thinks critically about. I don't want to ever have to hear anything like that, pretty much regardless of the subject. It's noise pollution, and I shouldn't be subjected to it.
