if this show were on regular cable, I probably wouldn't mind watching it every now and then.

I think I figured out what makes this show so popular in a slight sense. it fuels people's fetishes... fucking seriously, it delves into some character's inner-most emotions, like how one character would be a pushover, another one would be a psycopath with a multiple personality disorder, while another would be chastised and called emo in the real world, yet loved by fans as someone who just needs a hug, and just listening to fluttershy go "oh... ok" to every dickhead, makes me wonder if even that fuels people fantasies.

otherwise, predictable plot. I knew the second fluttershy read the pamphlet, it was going to progress into her becoming overly assertive, and would end up hurting her friends, only until the last minute, to reconcile their differences.

I still don't get what sets this show so far above every other show out there.

I'm not saying it's bad... I just don't have this sudden urge to dedicate half my life to the show

Well, yeah thats really my initial reaction to the show
Its predictable, the characters are pretty straightforward, but its enjoyable to watch for whatever reason. The characters are interesting enough to keep my attention, the plot is predictable but still enjoyable to sit through, and Im still loving the art style, that much has never changed. Im also fond of how theyve seemed to make it more interesting for the older fans to watch as well since Season 1. Its basically a show that seems to do things right, in a time where every other cartoon and tv show is failing at even holding a braindead child's attention for more than a couple minutes.

if it helps, fluttershy reminds me of characters that are so rare in shows. someone with genuine care for things. that's why I liked rocko's modern life so much. rocko had that similar personality.

Fluttershy is my favorite for that reason
Shes got a good personality, she likes animals, shes so shy its funny, shes the nicest character in the show

you'd have to create a whole new rule for MLP: if it exists, there's millions upon millions of MLP-based porn of it.

so here's my conclusion:

tis' a slightly well made show with bad plot's, but cute humor. but if I'd never heard of brony's, I'd never imagine adults liking this show.

actually, I only heard of my little pony through one of shinorz streams. he was streaming the show, and I was like "ok so... this is a little kids show... why are you drawing porn, and watching a little childrens show " then about a month later, I heard the term brony.... and that sadly explained everything

eh, I forget which characters are which... all I know is rainbow dash is supposed to be the main character I mean I know fluttershy, and I know some of the names, like celestia, and twilight sparkles. I just don't know who these names go to

Twilight Sparkle is the main character, but they're trying to give equal attention to all the characters now (they're doing kind of a bad job at it though)
