Set output to soundflower 2ch, set input to soundflower 2ch, load up your recording software of choice (I use Audacity, since it's free and it lets me monitor the audio during recording, but you may also use Garage Band or Pro Tools or whatever), hit record, and play whatever you want to record.

Trim off the silence before and after, export mp3, and done.

I am now faced with a bit of a problem

I hopped on Steam to play some Amnesia, and I notice a new invite. Upon checking, its from a small brony group that most likely found me on an Amnesia forum. Most of my friends list consists of people who know I watch the show and/or probably dont care, yet I have some select people, one being a close friend I know IRL (at least I did back when I lived in AZ), and Im fairly certain he doesnt like ponies in the slightest. It was awkward as fuck to have him find out I was a furry, though he wasnt too bothered because I dont draw porn and he thought I was a pretty decent artist, though having ponies plastered on my profile may be the line.

On the other hand, it would be kind of cool to actually join some sort of group, and this is the first one thats invited me.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. But that's coming from me, a paranoid ultra-secretive person who keeps at least three different internet personalities operating at all times and keeps them perfectly partitioned.

If you want to join it but don't want it to look like you're just a brony and nothing else, you could join some other groups first. If you play multiplayer games on clan servers you get invited to clan groups all the time. I actually was invited to a brony group a few months back if I recall correctly. (lots of bronies on TF2) You can also join other groups based on other interests pretty easily.

I think the problem is I dont play as many multiplayer games on Steam, so I dont get group invites and I wouldnt have a reason to join many groups as it is. I have TF2 but I never play it...though it would be cool to join a brony server, see how that goes.

(I've actually never played a brony server before, since the me who's on Steam isn't a brony. I do play with a clan that has a pony server though.)

For me, it's simple. Riv gets to be a brony because his friends are bronies. Real me doesn't know any bronies. I don't see any benefits of mentioning it to the few people I actually like, so I keep it to myself. No sense in attracting trolls and haters.
