| And then, what if you miss? If you hit a tree or something? Then you're fucked, because while you're trying to dislodge your weapon, your enemy has a clear shot at you. Solid weapons are much better choices, IMHO. | |

the claymore is designed for this, the lower part of the blade is not sharp, it is made to deflect, which I am actually MOST talented at.

LMAO no, the claymore is designed as a sword deflector and an armor breaker, its a heavy weapon but I believe that its pros severely outweigh the con.

I prefer moving weapons, like with pressurized chemical compounds, like a handgun. A Browning Hi Power is a 9MM pistol with a 13 rd magazine, what it lacked in power way back when it was designed, it made up for in being a semi auto with a good mag size. Now a .44 Magnum Revolver, what it looses in capacity and speed, it makes up for in knock down power.in the end its all personal preference.

| You know what else would be cool? A battle axe. But those would be hard to use in close combat. Or a thick bullwhip with hooks and spikes on the end, to rip your opponent to shreds. Weapons like bombs and guns take far less skill to use than swords, hammers, axes, or maces.

Eh, trying to be part of the convo here. I will say this about lead pushers, never underestimate the little guy, a .22 or even a Derringer could do as much if not more damage than a .45 ACP.

| As I have said I'm skilled with heavy weapons, a battleaxe can be very effective in close combat, as any heavy weapon can be in the right hands.
The main reason I prefer large weapons is they are absolutely devastating armor destroyers, though it may be harder to land a hit with a large weapon, once you do get hit you don't stand a chance, if you're still alive that is.

| But like I said, with those all you have to do is have decent aim and pull a trigger or press a button. They don't require the practice and skill that a blade or a hammer would. | |

I'm quite fond of heavy weapons. But if you're not strong enough (like me lol), they'll really slow you down, and while power is important, you also have to be fast on your feet.

Hey I've got guns too, but they aren't honorable. It takes a real man to fight face to face with a massive knife/cleaver/hammer/mace. Not to mention, aside from being devastating assault weapons, they're also great for blocking (with the exception of hammers and maces)

Now that just ain't true. Its harder than you think to use a firearm, be it handguns, or rifles. Especially rifles at long range. At 700 yards with an M40A3 you better be a Marine Sniper. The farther from your target you are the more skilled you have to be, because you have to account for wind, bullet drop, weight, and target movement. Even more skill is required if you don't have a spotter.
