I was going to post the kitten anyway. This is the general thread. No one is stopping you from making a new topic if you want people to only talk about what you want and nothing else.

I'm not going to lie. every time I read a transgender-themed post, I just sigh, because I know it's going to be the same thing it always is. (not here, usually on any other site. tumblr especially. my god, if there was one popular subject, it's that) a friend ACCIDENTALLY offends his MtF friend by calling her "dude" and because of that, they're no longer friends.

I mean using the word faggot to define the gay/bi community as a whole, as one big joke is perfectly fine and dandy, but oh fuck! your friend called you dude? wow, he should probably hang himself.

it get's to a point where if you're not transgender yourself, you're the enemy. I mean according to brace, everyone's the bad guy. ESPECIALLY gay people

ITT we can't talk about this because at some points, Brace has expressed rhetoric eerily similar to that of the most fringe extreme elements of the movement, which BTW, almost no one seems to be able to seriously believe in for very long, including Brace. For real, if even I can't perpetually fight with Brace, I'm pretty sure it's because Brace isn't quite as bad as you think, because I damn sure do hate pretty much everyone when I can at all convince myself it's justified in any way.

It's easy to hate a collective, faceless entity, but an individual is easier.

I just really don't want to argue. I called wolfbone on his post, and I said what was on my mind. I had a whole thing written up before I erased it. I'd still bend over backwards to support any of you. I just hate when people end up losing friends because they feel like their friend doesn't understand them. I read an article about how this trans person stopped talking to his friend because he accidentally referred to his original gender in front of people.

Because one anecdote from one article really speaks to the whole spectrum. I mean that's essentially the same problem as people who ultimately decide racial solidarity is more important than their diverse group of friends. It's something fucked up about humanity, and something that happens in every group, but it doesn't define us, just speaks to part of what's wrong with us. At some point Milo, you've probably found yourself doing the same in some way.

Uh, that's sorta the thing about generalizations. Yeah, they're usually true to some extent, but they're not really useful. I was talking to a guy today in class and learned something about myself from him. Appearntly I have a rare eye type that changes colors all the time. He said that in class my eyes changed 3 times from gray to green then blue on the right and blue, amber and green on the left.
